B Towns sitting beside RosaLee Watson on stage with Doc Watson during the 2008 Merlefest.. Frederick William Towns IV ( B Towns Towns ) founder of Merlefest. B Towns was the Horticulture instructor for Wilkes Community College when his concept of a developing a Garden on the campus which included a walking trail for the blind. B's Garden plan took a life of it's own and truned into what is today's Merlefest, draging B along for the ride .
